5050 Assistant Actuary Lead Role in Risk, ALM;  ASA thru FSA West
Opportunity for an ambitious actuary to be an important member of this actuarial staff by providing technical and analytical support to senior management and product risk management. This is a production role that will lead the modeling and related system efforts for reporting financial results. This position will analyze, develop, and utilize computer models, as well as collect, produce and organize quantitative information necessary for reporting and further analysis. Perform the quarterly calculations and attribution analysis for the Economic Balance Sheet and Economic Income Statement including the fair value of the liability as well as determining economic capital.. Support the calculations and explanations for quarterly IFRS fair value of the synthetic GIC liability. Model the synthetic GIC liability profile for cashflow testing and reporting. Provide liability quantification support for budget and financial planning as it particularly relates to reserve forecasts and other financial metrics. Prepare and present summary reporting on the above metrics to senior management. Responsible for identifying and following through on the maintenance and enhancement of the Synthetic GIC liability model used to quantify the above metrics particularly for product changes and enhancements. Develop and abide by Business Continuity Planning controls for the risk model and support the development of other control processes as required by AeMcS and other financial reporting requirements. Minimum 3-7 years experience in asset liability management, risk analysis, actuarial modeling, financial valuation, or other related work. Experience with MoSes or other asset/liability systems preferred. $120,000-$150,000

5051 Assistant Actuary Financial Modeling, ALM; Near ASA thru FSA West
The Financial Modeling area of this prestige life insurance organization is seeking a qualified candidate for a new Actuarial position in the model development team, whose responsibilities include actuarial model development, data management, and process improvement. This position will also support other actuarial projects involving model projections and analysis. The division product offerings include pensions, voluntary benefits, executive benefits, and stable value investments. Assist in the development of the asset/liability models for all financial modeling projects. Analyze current data flow processes, identify areas of improvement, design and implement solutions. Responsibilities included but not limited to: Enhance automation of actuarial processes. Assist in various modeling projects, such as Embedded Value, Economic Capital, Cash Flow Testing and Budget. This will involve maintaining and enhancing models in MoSes, summarizing and analyzing results in Excel and communicating results to senior management, Corporate Actuarial, Accounting, and Risk. Minimum 3-7 years experience in asset liability management, risk analysis, actuarial modeling, financial valuation, or other related work. Strong proficiency in Excel and Access is required. Computer programming experience or background strongly preferred. Experience with MoSes or other asset/liability systems required. Background in fixed and variable universal life insurance, health insurance, and DB & DC pension products preferred. Minimum 3 actuarial exams thru FSA $85,000-$145,000.

Responsibilities include quarterly earnings analysis
